Dragee printer (also called a dragee food printer or Chocolate candy food printer) is a specialized edible inkjet flatbed printer designed to print high‑resolution, full‑color images, logos, patterns, or text directly onto small, coated confectionery items like dragees (sugar‑coated candies, e.g., M&Ms, dragées, chocolate beans), macarons, cookies, and other small food surfaces.

How It Works

  1. Prepare Artwork: Design images/logos in Photoshop, CorelDRAW, or RIP software.
  2. Load Food: Place dragees/candies on the flatbed tray (often with a tray/holder to keep them stable).
  3. Print: The printhead moves over the items (non-contact), jetting edible ink (CMYK.LC.LM 6 color) to reproduce the design at high resolution (up to 5760×1440 dpi).
  4. Dry/Cure: Inks air‑dry quickly (at once); no post‑heating needed for most dragee surfaces.
